poll: i’m still here

I have mixed emotions about Casey Affleck’s forthcoming mockumentary about his famous brother-in-law, Joaquin Phoenix. Here’s a peek at the promo poster, which went public earlier this week.

In a nutshell, according to the official site, “I’m Still Here” follows the Oscar-nominee as he announces his retirement from a successful film career in the fall of 2008 and sets off to reinvent himself as a hip hop musician.”

Some facts that are making me less than excited to see it…

1. The L.A. Times reported that the movie has “more male frontal nudity than you’d find in some gay porn films.” Um, gross.

2. The star snorts coke off a hooker’s tata. Yuck, man!

3. Director Affleck is being sued for sexual harassment by not one, but two ladies who worked on the film (one as an executive producer, the other as the cinematographer). So not cool!

Frankly, I think I hands-down prefer the old Joaquin. You know, the one who didn’t fall off of stages, get into fights or act like a total whacko on Letterman.

Joaquin then.

Annnnnd, Joaquin now.

What do you think about watching a movie documenting a talented man’s career (and perhaps sanity?) go off the rails?
