remember duane allman

Today, October 29th, marks the 39th anniversary of Duane Allman’s death. He died at the age of 24 in a motorcycle accident. Duane is, hands down, my favorite guitar player, and even though his life was cut short, he left us a lot of imperishable music. I’m going to jam the shit of his must-have anthology today, and of course, some Derek & Dominos.

you, Duane.
You are greatly missed.

  1. Do you know the song “Put Some Drive in Your Country” by Travis Tritt? I love when he says “Damn, I miss Duane Allman, wish he was still a-round!” When you hear an Allman Bros. tune, you KNOW it’s the Allman Bros. Love that about their music. I think my fave is Whipping Post.
